If you want to enjoy an optimal and carefree cycling trip, then this package is ideal for you. This package includes renting an electric bike for the whole day, a boat trip from and a visit to a photo studio for a photo in Volendam costume.

Bicycle rental for a nice bike ride

At Rent & Event, we have fine cycling routes of the area. Our 2 most popular routes are as follows:

Route 1 Waterland 27km

Start in Volendam and then cycle to Monnickendam via Katwoude. Here you can enjoy a tasty lunch (not included). You will then get on your bike to pedal towards picturesque Broek in Waterland via Overleek. This village is breathtaking and is in the top 5 most beautiful villages of the Netherlands. Next, you set course towards Zuiderwoude and then pedal towards Marken where you take the boat back to Volendam.

Route 2 Marken 20km

With route 2, you will also cycle to Monnickendam with the possibility of having lunch (not included) From there, you will leave over the dike directly to Marken. On this former island, it is worthwhile to cycle briefly to the lighthouse "the horse of Marken". From Marken you take the boat back to Volendam.

At the end of the cycling tour, return your bikes to Rent & Event and then have your photo taken in Volendam costume on the famous dyke.

10:00 Collect your vehicle and start the tour by cycling towards Edam
10:20 Visit the beautiful town of Edam, known for its beautiful houses, cosy streets and, of course, Edam cheese
10:40 Continue your route by cycling back towards Katwoude mill
11:00 Make a photo stop at the Kathammer windmill, then continue to Katwoude
11:20 Visit cheese farm the Jacobs Hoeve, see how the cows are milked, cuddle the calves and taste the many types of cheese.
11:50 Continue your trip to Monnickendam
12:00 Take a small city tour of Monnickendam on foot or by bike, exploring the three church towers.
12:15 Now there is an opportunity to settle down for a while at one of the terraces in Monnickendam harbour
13:00 Now pedal briskly along the 10-kilometre Zeedijk towards Marken with beautiful views over the Gouwzee and surrounding villages
14:00 At the very tip of Marken, you will come to the lighthouse, The Horse of Marken for another photo stop
14:15 Arriving at Marken harbour, there will be an opportunity to enjoy a drink or lunch at Taverne de Visscher overlooking the harbour
15:15 Boat trip from Marken to Volendam
15:45 Return the bikes to the Rent & Event shop
16:00 Taking a picture in traditional costume at Photographer Volendam - Haven 70
16:30 End of programme.
